My {Make-Up} Collection
I know I have mentioned before I have an awful lot of makeup, Bare Escentuals (BE) in particular. My obsession started back when Little Lady was a new baby and I was nursing 24/7. I found an amazing make-up forum with tips, tricks and tons of wonderful ladies. Well fast forward to present day and I have around 315 BE eye colors alone. I haven’t been using my BE as much as I would like. Time, kids and life have made palettes (like UD Naked) just easier. That was until Santa brought home the beautiful chest I have been eyeing since visiting my sister-in-law in May!! It is beautiful and has so much room for all my makeup plus some.
Hobby Lobby hit a home run with this piece. It {goes} with the rest of the IKEA furniture we have in the master and is perfect for those little jars of sparkle.
In the top two drawers I have my
- BE blush
- BE all over face colors(AOFC)
- BE radiances
- ELF blush & bronzer
- Tarte blush & bronzer
- Laura Geller bronzer (perfect for the fairest of skin)
Beauty Tip: If you have a collection of BE and wonder if you use all the colors here is what I do. All of the pots are stored upside down with label facing up. After I have worn one it is then stored right side up until I run out and start over. Of course there are a few I cheat with and turn over earlier if I have a particular color in mind. I wear 4 shadows for most looks so they get turned over faster than you might think.
These are probably my 3 favorite drawers. With my green eyes, purples are hands down my favorite eye colors. Of course Neutrals are also on the top of the list.
Next we have my greys, who doesn’t love a soft grey look during winter? I know I said my eyes are green but I really {love} wearing green eyeshadow too. Sometimes I feel they really make my eyes a new shade of green depending on what I’m wearing that day. Pinks, Peaches and Blues are the hardest colors for me to wear. I really have to have slept well, use a little more concealer and blend well to make them work. I enjoy wearing makeup so that won’t stop me.
Then, of course my beloved Naked & other eye palettes have a drawer as well.
The last drawers that I am using now have BE liners (all colors) and my other face stuff. I have Too Faced, Bobbi Brown, BE, Lumiere, Stila Tarte, Make Up Forever and Lorac.
So that is my BE storage, here is what I use on a regular basis. I took a sterilite container and spray painted it to match my {hair} tools basket I keep under the vanity.
This is where I have my daily essentials. Top drawers have my current fave foundation, concealer and EOS lip balm, just to name a few. The basic idea is that if I only have a few minutes I only need items in the top drawer, then the more time I have the 2nd, 3rd and so on.
On top is my Shu-Uma eyelash curler, perfume minis and odds & ends.
My brushes (eyes & face) are easily used standing up like this along with all my mascaras that I rotate.
Well, there you have it, that is all my makeup. Except maybe some extras in a box under the sink. Okay so now that’s everything. I know it looks like a lot of eye shadow, and it is, but each color really is different, some matte, some shimmer and some very sparkly.

I am a beauty obsessed, list making, coffee drinking stay at home mom. I have a love of fashion and anything leopard print. I am a {retired} hairstylist and my Tuesday nights haven’t been the same since Buffy the Vampire Slayer went off the air in 2003. Gilmore Girls was a close second and I still enjoy the re-runs. I have been married to my best friend for 9 years. I really couldn’t ask for a more supportive partner in life.

Holy cow! That is a LOT of makeup! I just went through mine and threw away things I haven’t used in a while or have had longer than a year.
I do that regularly too. What I love most about BE is it doesn’t expire so it really is a good investment!
OH MY GOSH. That is a ton of makeup….and I am so, so, so jealous!!!! Not just of all the GORGEOUS makeup but your fabulous organization, too! Wow- I’m just in awe! This is just incredible! Found you through Shanna’s Random Wednesday link up- so glad I did!
So glad you stopped by! I have been honing my skill of organizing my makeup for years! I think I finally have a system that lets me actually use it!
So much makeup! I love how you have it organized! I usually at the gym in the mornings when I do my makeup, so everything is just crammed in a makeup bag. Have any hints for organizing that?
You have sparked an idea for another post! I’ll get on it in the next week.
Wow! You have a TON of makeup!!! Are you a cosmetologist or just a lover?!

oh.my.gaaaaah. I am dying over this post. new follower.
Thanks
OMGosh! I am in love with that storage cabinet! Not to mention all your makeup! I thought I had a lot with my two huge hanging things full but you put me to shame
Thanks I have been drooling since May and sense we are trying to go full speed ahead on saving I had to get it before the new year.
Wow! That is a TON of makeup! I want! I started making mineral makeup this year because all the other makeup was making me break out from the chemicals even bare essentials. Although I sometimes use other eyeshadows. I only have a little drawer and a makeup bag filled with my makeup. But you have now inspired me to make lots more makeup, thanks! & I love the cabinet!!
Make away!!
Let me know how it goes! I have to use their foundation sparingly. The original is okay, the matte is horrible for my skin. I love the way it looks but it just doesn’t like me. Their eye and face colors on the other hand! I love working with loose minerals just don’t have the patience with the kids right now to do it as often as I’d like!
Girl!! You were NOT joking when you said you have a lot of makeup. I love the way you organized everything. The drawers are perfection.
Girl I thought I had a lot of makeup! It is really cool to see how you store it – I am so unorganized, I literally have everything everywhere. In three or four different places! It’s a mess. I need to take a note from your book!
I’m envious of all that makeup! And what a GREAT way to store it all!!
I love it! How many drawers does it have? Any chance you know the manufacter name, or website spot that I can look at it? I can’t find it on the Hobby Lobby website, and we don’t have any stores in my state.
I love how well this showcases your beautiful BE collection! Absolute perfection.
I have been looking for something to organize my makeup. Your chest is perfect!
